The Baltimore Association of Black Journalists hosted its September 2019 meeting at Baltimore Center Stage (BCS).
BCS Director of Communications and Strategic Partnerships Robyn Murphy welcomed guests to the theater and addressed the need for an increased number of qualified journalists of color covering the Baltimore arts scene. Center Stage has numerous upcoming theatrical projects that illuminate various ethnic communities and focus on Baltimore’s cultural landscape.
🌟@BABJ_md is back from summer hiatus & back to #JournoLife business. Our #BABJSocialMedia mtg w/ @CherryNetwork was a hit at @centerstage_md. Super s/o to @mrsmediamom for the #MediaDiversity in the arts message. More details to come. PS These are some of my favorite people. pic.twitter.com/fTgDCdweud

About 15 people attended the #BABJSocialMedia Saturday afternoon workshop “Reaching Your Target Audience: Creating An Effective Social Media Strategic Plan” with Social Media Instructor Sally S. Cherry.
The workshop offered participants an opportunity to create and refine their individual social media strategic plans. It was also an opportunity to increase a basic understanding of available social media platforms. Cherry lead the group in helping them harness the power of social media to:
- reach their respective target audiences
- enhance the delivery of information
- engage through digital “conversations”
- foster an interactive community
- broaden their digital “footprints”
Cherry offered participants to reach out to her in the future for additional guidance on constructing effective social media coverage plans.
