The Baltimore Association of Black Journalists March meeting focused on students college and graduate students providing resume reviews and a discussion of how to prepare for careers in journalism before graduation.
Student resume reviews took place before the general business meeting at Morgan State University’s School of Global Journalism & Communication.
BABJ plans to offer this service again in the upcoming year for students and professionals.
Guest panelists Michelle Deal-Zimmerman, features editor for The Baltimore Sun and Richard Washington III, executive producer for WBAL-TV (Channel 11) lead the conversation titled “Journalism Jobs #RealTalk: What they won’t tell you in J-School, but the managers will.”
Students who attended the meeting brought positive attitudes while being dressed professionally.
